1. Please Join Asian Media Access to celebrate 2008 Lunar New Year Gala

Asian Media Access will host its Third Asian Lunar New Year Celebration.

Date & Time: Sunday, March 2, 2008, 12:00 noon - 3:00 p.m.
Location: Varsity Theater (Dinkytown), 1308 - 4th Street, SE., Minneapolis.

This exciting New Year celebration is complete with entertainment, food and
a silent auction to help raising funds for the Asian Media Access Multi Arts
Complex.  Guests will enjoy a diverse buffet lunch with feature dishes from
Chinese, Hmong, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other ethnic
restaurants, and back by high demand, a showing of the best of television
commercials from
Asia Pacific.

2. Geetmala TV Starts Its 7th Season

Geetmala TV starts its seventh successful season on Feb 17th 2008 as Twin
City's own culturally sizzling entertainment TV Program.

Sundays 9 to 9:30 PM on TPT MN Channel 17

Season 7 features upcoming local Twin Cities talent in music, dance and
theatre, of diverse backgrounds.  This music & entertainment based program
is a fusion of new Bollywood video hits, Punjabi & Bhangra music and
nostalgic golden oldies from the Indian subcontinent. The program adds local
content through original performances & stimulating interviews with a
variety of artists as well as, cultural & community organization leaders.

Geetmala's mission is to entertain Americans from diverse ethnic backgrounds
ranging from Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans, Nepalese, Hmong, Middle
Eastern, Somalis as well its increasing fan base of world music and arts
lovers in the Twin Cities, originating from all parts of the world.

Geetmala is created and managed by volunteers. St Paul Neighborhood Network
(SPNN) provides equipment, studio, editing space and production training to
the volunteers.

Mukhtar Thakur, a community activist in the Twin Cities, is the creator and
executive producer for Geetmala TV.  The program schedule is available at

3. Wealth Management Seminars Series

CAAPAM (Chinese American Academic & Professional Association in Minnesota)
will be holding a series of wealth management seminars in the coming months.
They are free and open to the public.  These seminars are educational and
are not product sales.  The objective is to provide everyone educational
information on wealth management knowledge so that we all can be better
prepared to reach our financial goals.

The first of the series:
Topic: (A) Introduction of ETF; (B) Three Critical Things You or Your
Financial Advisors Should Do in Managing Your Investments

Date & Time: March 1, 2008, 9:40 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Introduction:
(A) Exchanged-traded fund (ETF) is not new to the financial world, but it
might be new to you.  What are they?  How are they different from regular
mutual funds?  Are they suitable for you?  In just a few years, ETFs have
exploded to well over 500 products.  As a strategy, these indexing funds
make sense for many investors.  How should you take advantage of ETFs?  They
are going to discuss some pros & cons, and strategies to diverse your
portfolio and enhance your investment returns.

(B) Wealth management:  Almost everyone at some point need to manage his or
her assets or deal with investments - from 401K, IRA to savings or mutual
funds, to life insurance or mortgage.  Nowadays, managing money is not an
easy task.  Even your investments have good returns now, will that be
sustainable?  How much can you keep at tax time?  How to systematically buy
low and sell high?  We'll talk about the 3 things that you should do to
accomplish the task.

Hmong Heroines will be the 1st radio program about Hmong women in KFAI's 18
years of celebrating International Women's Day.  Historically, Hmong women
have not received the recognition they have deserved.  Let's change history.

Do you know a Hmong woman that deserves recognition?  Submit her name and a
brief statement describing her contribution and/or achievement.  They are
interested in the untold stories, please submit names of women that have
touched your life.  They will recognize EVERY name they receive.  Email

This Forum is for students their parents and supporters to convene and talk
about the achievement of Asian American and Pacific Islander students.  The
Forum is designed to present the data, but it is the panelists who will
breath life into the data as they share their challenges and successes in
the classroom and make real the fact that all students can do well and
deserve a chance to accomplish their dreams.
