2. Open Audition for a Short

Grace on a Stick
A Short Written and Directed by Catherine Gray

Suspicious of foul play with her mother¹s estate, Grace demands answers and
gets a whole lot more than she bargained for including a road trip, a world
of new faces and the best blueberry pie ever.  Jerome media arts grant
recipient, Catherine Gray is directing this short film, which will be shot
on video in the first half of October (weather allowing).  They will try to
shoot Friday thru Sunday over two weekends.  Looking for actors to play the
following:

- Grace 40 - 55 years old, Caucasian, yuppie, put-together, privileged
-  Faiza 40-60+ years old African (Somali, Ethiopian) Speaks English with
accent, Wears hijab
- Arty 35 - 60 years old Long hair, beard, scary looking Harley rider. Wild
eyed. Gruff outside and teddy bear inside. Must be able to drive Harley
- Mai 35+ years old Hmong, Speaks with broken English. Waitress and Mother
of teen
- Lili 15-16 years old Hmong, Speaks good English. Rebellious appearance.
Face piercings good
- Alice 70-80 years Caucasian, Feeble and feisty
- Sam 30-50 years old Caucasian, hard to determine gender
- Bob 50+ years old Caucasian, WASP, Lawyer, Distinguished, Conservative
- Big Al 50+ years old African American Man, Very Skinny and very short

3. Celebrate MN Recovery Month With Events Throughout September

Event 1: Beyond Silence
Please join Asian Media Access, Center for Hmong Studies, Council of Asian
Pacific Islanders, and Lao Cultural Center to support Asian American &
Pacific Islander (AAPI) Recovery Month Forum.  FREE and open to public,
lunch provided.

4. Call for Competition Submission ­ 3 to 15 Minute Non-Fiction Videos

They're looking for 3-15 minute non-fiction videos that pose the question
what does tolerance (or intolerance) mean to you?  What are your feelings on
racism? Sexism? Agism? Genocide? Homophobia? Religion?

The prize is $100k and the deadline is OCTOBER 2ND.  An additional $15k will
be donated to a charity that fights for your chosen cause.  The judges are
very cool and established in the entertainment industry (Ed Norton, M. Night
Shyamalan, Paul Haggis to name a few) and the winning films will screen on
World Tolerance Day (Nov 16), with agents and managers in the audience.
