1. Arts Conference - Reconnect, Recharge, Reengage!
Please join them for a day-long event, that will combine:
- learning from efforts to expand arts participation in Minnesota and other
states;
- roundtable discussions on topics that you choose;
- training workshops on fundraising, board development, and keeping your
organization healthy;
- presenters who will bring new perspectives to ever-present issues;
- networking
This event is open to anyone who wants to bring some new ideas into their
work or their organization, and wants to learn from and share with others in
the Minnesota arts community.
Date & Time: Monday, November 6, 2006, 8 am 4 pm, with a reception and
networking session at 4 pm.

2. Chinese Dance Performance Only Love
³Only Love² production features expressive Chinese dance with live choral

CAAM Chinese Dance Theater and Minhua Chorus are teaming up to present a
full evening of Chinese dance accompanied by live choral music for two
performances, Saturday Nov. 4, 2006 2PM and 7 PM. Titled ³Only Love², the
program will feature exquisite costumes, expressive dances and moving live
choral music on the premier Twin Cities stage, the O'Shaughnessy, at the
College of St. Catherine's.
More than 150 dancers and choral performers will join in the tribute to the
positive universality of love among families, neighbors and the world. The
program brings together the talents of award winning choreographer, Lili
Teng; composer of the ŒFirst Rank¹, Aiqun He; and gifted choral director,
Lei Li.
CAAM Chinese Dance Theater is the premier Chinese dance performance group
in the Midwest, delighting audiences since 1991. Minhua Chorus, the
pre-eminent Chinese musical chorus in the Midwest, has performed diverse
Chinese music repertory in Chicago, the Twin Cities and other major US

Pao, an ethnic Hmong girl living in the remote mountains of northern
Vietnam, has two mothers - a real mother and a stepmother. Her real mother
left Pao and her brother when they were still young children, to be raised
by their stepmother. But, after a family incident, Pao decides to leave
home and track down her real mother. Her quest leads us on a journey of
discovery marked by the intricacies of relationships among the Hmong people.
DIRECTOR NGO QUANG HAI & LEAD ACTRESS DO THI HAI YEN will be present for
both screenings and will take part in a Q & A after the film.
"Story of Pao" has been submitted as Vietnam's entry in the Foreign Film
category for the 2006 Academy Awards. Written and Directed by Ngo Quang
Hai, with music by Nguyen Thien Dao and cinematography by Cordelia
Beresford. Produced by Vietnam Cinema Department and Feature Film I.
The film is based on a true story and inspired by the short story, ³The
Hmong flute behind the rocky fence², by Do Bich Thuy.
Won first place at the 2006 Montreal World Film Festival in the First Films
World Competition.

success is to use every means at your disposal to develop effective
interviewing skills: selective presentation of your background, thoughtful
answers to interview questions, well-researched questions about the
organization, and an effective strategy to market yourself.
NAAAP-MN has teamed up with the Career Services Office at the University of
St. Thomas College of Business to offer the opportunity for NAAAP-MN members
to hear such valuable insights from recruiters from corporations including
EcoLab and Target on building effective resumes and interviewing skills.
Join them for an opportunity to further enhance your business competencies
and connections. Time for networking will follow the panel presentation.

6. Project Homeless Connect
PROJECT HOMELESS CONNECT
Date & Time: December 4, 2006: 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Location: Minneapolis Convention Center, Minneapolis
Project Homeless Connect is a one-stop shop model for delivering services to
people experiencing homelessness. Twice each year, Hennepin County and the
City of Minneapolis will be partnering with service providers, businesses,
citizens, and faith communities to bring multiple resources to one location
where people can come and find the services they need. These services
include: housing, employment, medical care, mental health care, benefits and
legal assistance, eye doctors, haircuts, transportation assistance, food and
clothing.
