1. Free Minnesota Sinfonia Concerts

The first free Minnesota Sinfonia concert of the 2006-2007 series:

Date & Time: Friday, Nov. 10, 7 p.m.
Location: Metropolitan State Auditorium, 700 East Seventh Street, Saint Paul

The concert, In Memory of Joe Carter, features soprano soloist, Yolanda
Williams.

The ³Holiday Pops" Family Concert will be on Friday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. in
the university¹s Auditorium.

Both concerts are free and open to the public. Concert seating is first
come, first served.

2. Performances by Katha Dance Theatre Company

Mark your calendar to see the unique show, 'Sufism Remembered' with seven
artists from India and Katha Dance Theatre Company - a must to see!

Katha Dance Theatre Turns Mystic Prose Into Captivating Dance with "Sufism
Remembered".

Katha Dance Theatre, the Twin Cities premier Kathak dance organization,
presents "Sufism Remembered."   Sufism is a mystical tradition encompassing
a diverse range of beliefs and practices dedicated to the love and service
of one's fellow man and God.  Kathak dance originated in North India
thousands of years ago as a story-telling dance form and modern Kathak is a
fusion of Indian and Persian cultures.

Sufism Remembered is a one-of-kind performance with stunning collaboration
of local and international visiting artists, bringing the lyrical and
spiritual power of various Sufi poems to life in a remarkably moving
performance, a multidimensional feast of poetry, music, dance and story.
The show will run from November 16-19, 2006 at the Ritz Theatre in northeast
Minneapolis.

"Sufi poets, revolutionary in their time, captured the entire spectrum of
the human experience in poetry and song while encouraging others to open
their hearts and minds through divine love," said Mustaphi.  "In fact, many
Sufi schools use movement and dance as part of their spiritual endeavors.
KDT will deliver a tribute to Sufi poetry and music that will aims to
introduce the beauty of Sufism and the power of Kathak dance to the Twin
Cites."

The collaborators: Katha Dance Theatre (USA), Choreographer/dancer Rita
Mustaphi (USA), Composer and vocalist Debashis Sarkar (India), Composer and
vocalist Pooja Goswami (India), Percussionist Utpal Ghoshal (India), Sitar
artist and composer Chandrachur Bhattyacharjee (India), Choreographer/dancer
Ashimbandhu Bhattacharjee (India), Choreographer/dancer Luna Poddar (India),
Choreographer/dancer Kiran Chouhan (India) and light Designer Dinesh Poddar
(India). Poetry will be new works by Jalaluddin Rumi, Amir Khusrau, Attar,
Hazrat Inayat Khan, Bulleh Shah, Kabir, Lalan Fakir, Rabia al Basri and
more.

Sufism Remembered will run nightly at 8 pm from Thursday, November 16
through November 18th with a special matinee show at 2 pm on Sunday,
November 19th.  Ticket prices begin at $18 and tickets are on sale now at
www.ticketworks.com.

3. Hmong Student Association's Culture Day in Mankato

Hmong Student Association's Culture Day!

Date & Time: November 18, 2006, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m

There will be entertainments, foods, and honor guest from the Mankato
community, Hmong community and many more to celebrate the Hmong New Year.

As part of Minnesota State University's students, they would like you and
organization and their parents to be part of the celebration and enjoy a
good time with everyone.  They would like you to let them know by November
3, 2006 how many students and parents will be coming down to this event to
help them celebrate the New Year with The Hmong Student Association.

Tickets are $5 dollars in advance and $6 dollars at the door.
Transportation is provided by The Hmong Student Association to and from the
event.  Students will be picked up at 9:00 am at one of the High School in
St. Paul and Minneapolis.   This pick up will be announced at a later date.
