3. Program Sharing Conference
Program Sharing is a two-day conference showcasing effective prevention
programs that meet evidence-based prevention principles in the domain of
planning and evaluation, education and skill development, community
organization, public and organizational policy and professional growth and
responsibility. The conference offers an excellent opportunity for
prevention practitioners and those interested in learning about effective
ATOD (alcohol, tobacco and other drugs) prevention methods to increase the
effectiveness of their programs.

October 11 David Walsh, PhD, President, National Institute on Media and
the Family. Dr. Walsh has emerged as one of the worldıs leading authorities
on parenting, family life and the impact of media on children and teens.
His presentation will focus on what happens to the adolescent brain on the
path from childhood to adulthood, revealing the latest scientific findings
in easy-to-understand terms.
October 12 Roger Svendsen, MS, CPPR, Director of Program Development and
Training, Minnesota Institute of Public Health. Roger will share insights
from his 35 years of experience developing student assistance programs,
school policy, curricula and engaging the broader community in prevention.
His discussion will include an overview on what we can do to keep students
healthy, safe and successful in school.
