Black Turtle were mandated by the God of Heaven (Tien Dei) to be in charge

2. Casual Classics Preview Concert Minnesota Orchestra

After eight seasons as conductor of the Minnesota Orchestra's Casual
Classics series, David Alan Miller has decided to devote more time to other
artistic ventures and has announced that the current season will be his
final. David has been an outstanding artistic partner whose unique talents
have helped to define the Casual Classics experience. He is a great friend
to the Orchestra, and they have enjoyed these past years with him. Rather
than seek another conductor to fill David's shoes, they've decided to
experiment a bit with the Casual Classics concert format and they'd like to
ask you, their loyal listeners, for input.

Join them for a free casual classics preview concert. Don't miss the
opportunity to help shape a Minnesota Orchestra concert series They invite
you to sample this new format at a free concert.

Date & Time: Saturday, January 13, 8 pm

Minnesota Orchestra Violist Sam Bergman will be joined by conductor Sarah
Hatsuko Hicks and the Minnesota Orchestra for a one-of-a-kind journey
through Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4.

In the first half of the concert, Sam and his Orchestra colleagues will take
you behind their music stands to better understand this great Tchaikovsky
score, offering insights on what to listen for and what makes the symphony
work. They'll play excerpts, share anecdotes and offer a few surprises too!
Following intermission, you'll enjoy a complete performance of the symphony.

Afterwards, you'll have the opportunity to give your feedback (via a
questionnaire) about the concert what you liked and what you didn't like
which will help them shape the final series concept for the coming year.
You'll also have the opportunity to subscribe to the 2007-08 season of
Casual Classics at a very special price.

Other upcoming concerts:

Conducts Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake (Jan. 4-6): When it comes to big, rich
music full of glorious sound and surprise, nobody beats the Russians and the
three on this program gave us music that's pure glory to the human ear. The
big discovery this week is how perfectly Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake the world's
most popular ballet fits the concert hall as if it had been born there.

Conducts the 1812 Overture - A Salute to Antal Dorati (Jan. 11-12) - They've
invited one of the world's great cellists, Raphael Wallfisch, to play the
beautiful Cello Concerto of Antal Dorati, the Orchestra's Hungarian-born
music director of the 1950s. In these concerts, they celebrate the
centennial of Dorati's birth, saluting a conductor who made the Orchestra
world renowned with high-voltage performances of works like Tchaikovsky's
1812 Overture. (And turned that into otheir first Gold Record!)
